Monitor
Jonathan uses the LG UltraFine 27″ 5K monitor which is perfect when paired with a USB-C MacBook. The LG UltraFine has a 5K IPS display that runs at 60Hz and can be powered using a single USB-C Thunderbolt cable that can also charge your MacBook (94W). This feature makes this monitor the best companion for MacBooks, you can easily remove your laptop and be mobile, without multiple ugly cables.
Other features of the LG Ultrafine include a built-in camera and speakers and the ability to control the display’s brightness directly from the MacOS settings app. IO includes 3x USB-C ports.
MacBook Pro 15″
Powering the UltraFine monitor is the 2016 MacBook Pro with TouchBar which is outdated but still a beast for video editing and MacOS-optimized workflows. The alternative for this laptop on 2022 is the 16″ MacBook Pro with the M1 chip, capable of phenomenal speeds and everything a professional might ever need from their laptop.
